The southwest of Victoria is one of Australia's most fascinating destinations for many reasons. First and foremost I suppose is the coastline which attracts visitors from all over the world. Their number one objective of all things to see is of course the 12 Apostles which is the official end of the Great Ocean Road. However, the 12 Apostles is not the only rock formation here - there are many more. Many locals believe the Bay of Martyrs is even better and this is only a short drive from Port Fairy. The small township of Port Fairy is well known to Victorians as one of the most beautiful in the state. There is just so much to see and do here. The Port Fairy Folk Festival is probably the best known festival in the state and is certainly one of the oldest. Usually held in March this is really a must do. The folk of Port Fairy love their festivals and for music lovers the Port Fairy Spring Festival is sensational. This is usually in October. For those of you who like to spend winter along the coast the Winter Weekends Festival should suit very well. And for those who prefer summer then the Moyneyana Festival might be just the thing and if you are travelling at this time of the year you will be able to enjoy all of the fabulous beaches in this part of the world. This however, really is only the tip of the iceberg. Warrnambool is just around the corner and just before that is the Great Ocean Walk. If all of this tires you out you may need a quick visit to the Port Fairy Day Spa. By staying at Orchard Cottages you are basing yourself in one of the best locations in the area and of course in one of the best accommodation options. You may however, be travelling further afield and will be in need of other places to stay. We recommend the following sites:  and

If you're travelling further afield past the Great Ocean Road you might like to look at Bellarine Peninsula Accommodation.
